‘This is Penn State’ Web series coming Tuesday

"This is Penn State," a slice-of-life look at the diverse parts that keep the University moving, will make its debut this week on Penn State News.

A means to educate, entertain and connect the University community, "This is Penn State" celebrates the ambition, creativity and expertise among students, staff and faculty at University Park and beyond.

The first episode, a look at the beloved West Halls cookies, will have its premiere Tuesday, May 5.

Produced by Penn State News and Media Relations, the monthly series sets out to strengthen the bond among Penn Staters, building community through a shared pride in the University as well as academic and professional excellence. The monthly series will also enhance the Penn State Today email publication with visual storytelling that's concise and light in tone.

"We're committed to telling Penn State's story," said host Bill Zimmerman, social media manager in News and Media Relations, "whether that means heading down the hall or traveling across the state to a Commonwealth Campus. Ideas are lurking everywhere -- in the classroom, in the lab, on the field. If it provides a better answer to the question 'What is Penn State?,' we'll explore it."

Episodes will reside on the Penn State's News site as well as social media platforms, including the official YouTube channel.
